Orangeries
Let us inspire you with just some examples of the difference a well thought out Orangery can make. The unique designs allow an experienced designer to create a truly remarkable feature. Orangeries differ from more conventional Glass Buildings such as Conservatories and Glasshouses. You will see from these examples that while these Hardwood Orangeries enjoy all the benefits of natural light and heat gain, there are also significant areas of wall and roof which are not glass. These solid areas contain high-density insulation and also provide sun shading. The proportions achieved between the two are vital to the overall concept and allows for more decorative pilasters and mouldings to be added. These features together with ‘A’ rated glazing provides a room which can be used all year round, one that truly integrates with the total living space.

Orangery Design
Norman Pratt Hardwood Orangeries offer design opportunities unmatched in the world of construction. When properly designed and constructed a traditional Orangery becomes an all year round room. Your fully functioning ‘work of art’. It will truly transform your home and your daily life. Beautiful, Functional and Unique.

Kitchen Orangery
A kitchen orangery by Norman Pratt will provide space and light just where you need it. The high levels of insulation inherent in a well-built orangery will allow open plan access from adjoining rooms. This can be an important feature often creating new living space that certainly has a ‘wow’ factor. The kitchen window was removed and a new breakfast bar took its place. An open plan kitchen orangery leads to the south facing the garden. This orangery is perfect for entertaining and has transformed the way the home works.
Orangery Insulation
Every opportunity to improve insulation standards is implemented within these specifications. Double glazed toughened, A rated glass is used as the standard in all Norman Pratt Orangeries and Conservatories. Triple glazing is also available and can be used to increase insulation values or help to prevent noise pollution.
Orangery Design
It is important to put the time and effort into the design of your new orangery. A low profile roof avoids interfering with views from the windows above and the size and shapes complement the surroundings and the house itself.

Open Plan Kitchen Orangery
A Kitchen Orangery adds an important feature and creates new living space that certainly has a ‘wow’ factor. The kitchen window was removed and a new breakfast bar took its place. The open plan Kitchen Orangery leads to the south facing the garden. The new Orangery is perfect for entertaining and has transformed the way the home works.

The Perfect Kitchen Orangery Extension
This Hardwood Orangery offered the high insulation performance necessary to allow an open plan extension to the kitchen.

Triple Glazed Orangery
This third floor Orangery with a view of the marina, the sea and the island beyond has an open plan relationship with the living area and is subjected to the harsh winter winds and driving rain. A well thought out heating and ventilating plan ensures that temperatures are controlled all year round. Triple Glazed tough security glazing provides the perfect barrier from the elements outside and still takes full advantage of the wonderful view. The Orangery is on the third floor and Aluclad framing was used throughout to achieve a maintenance free exterior finish. Hardwood timber internally allows for a crisp modern interior finish.

Duel Color Hardwood Orangery
A Hardwood Orangery by Norman Pratt can make the best use of small spaces. This small area sat for many years underused. Even though the large period residence enjoyed high ceilings and generously sized rooms. The kitchen area was small and lacked natural light.
A Rated Security Glass
Double glazed A Rated security glass combined with Hardwood painted timber sash windows provide the perfect solution for this previously unused area of the house. Double doors lead to the sunny courtyard. Traditional sliding sash windows provide essential Georgian features and the glazed roof lantern allows natural light to flood in.
